The Story of the Great Western Railway from Bristol to London

This is the dramatic story of how and why the Bristol to London section of the GWR was built and nicknamed 'Brunel's billiard table' after its chief engineer. It was the world's first railway designed for high speed passenger travel and Brunel adorned it with masterpieces such as Wharncliffe Viaduct, Maidenhead Bridge, Box Tunnel and the stations at Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads. This documentary, written and presented by railway historian Mike Beale, is enhanced by stunning archive footage and illustrations, interviews and modern location film of the route today.

DVD, 75 Mins.

Price: £14.95 (plus £2.50 UK postage)
