Railway Experience Days

A chance of a lifetime to realise a childhood ambition and drive a steam engine. Ideal for a birthday treat, a special anniversary, corporate hospitality or pure self indulgence.

Relive the golden age of the Great Western Railway at Didcot Railway Centre where the original GWR engine shed is home to a fine collection of lovingly restored locomotives, looked after by the members of the Great Western Society.

The Day consists of:

The day commences at 8am with coffee and breakfast rolls and concludes at 4pm with the presentation of a Certificate of your day's experience.

Railway Experience Days - 2012

On Railway Experience Days we normally use ‘Mogul’ 2-6-0 No. 5322 or Great Western Pannier Tanks No. 3650 or No. 3738.

The Inclusive Cost

Railway Experience Days: £260

Participants are welcome to bring up to 2 guests (who must be booked in advance) who can accompany you for the tour and enjoy the day for £35 each including lunch. This is not suitable for young children.
To book please complete the attached form. If you have a Visa or MasterCard you can make a reservation by telephoning Didcot (01235) 817200 (Mondays to Saturdays 9am to 5pm). Railway Experience Days operate with a minimum of six participants; confirmation will be made when the minimum has been reached, or your alternative offered.
