You can visit Didcot Railway Centre on one of our advertised Running Days, and spend the day with one of our Guides who will take you round the Centre and show you behind the scenes, including some time riding on the footplate of the steam engines.
You will receive a year's membership of the Great Western Society and a souvenir of your visit.
A Day at Didcot is available on Running Days listed in our programme (except some of the special events) but numbers are limited and early booking essential.
The cost inclusive of lunch is £125. You can bring up to two friends or family can accompany you for the tour and enjoy the day for £25 each including lunch.
Don’t forget: Being around railway locomotives is not clean, so wear clothes to suit the location! Participants must be over 18 and reasonably fit and able bodied to ride on the footplate.

The railway themed Malmaison Reading, built in 1844 in the Italianate style, was the Great Western Railway Hotel until a fire in the 1960s. It was restored to its glamorous best by Malmaison Group and re-opened in 2007.
