You can visit Didcot Railway Centre on one of our advertised Steamdays, and spend the day with one of our Guides who will take you round the Centre and show you behind the scenes, including some time riding on the footplate of the steam engines.
You will receive a year's membership of the Great Western Society and a souvenir of your visit.
A Day at Didcot is available on Steamdays listed in our programme (except some of the special events) but numbers are limited and early booking essential. A Day at Didcot is definitely not available during the May 1-9 GWR 175 Event, but see the GWR 175 page for an interesting alternative!
The cost inclusive of lunch is £115. You can bring up to two friends or family can accompany you for the tour and enjoy the day for £25 each including lunch.
Don’t forget: Being around railway locomotives is not clean, so wear clothes to suit the location! Participants must be over 18 and reasonably fit and able bodied to ride on the footplate.
